I found this company via a friend's recommendation and they're every bit as good as I hoped. I have a now three-year-old Range Rover Autobiography that has (now had!) two problems which have driven me mad. The first is a clunking from the rear differential which has been present since I bought the car and despite regular returns to various main dealers and assurances that it was 'sorted' it never has been. Secondly, and I know this is a problem many L405 owners have, the need to have a cable connection to the screen to enable - in my case - Android Auto. I have moaned to every LR dealer about the frequent loss of connection and been advised to buy better cables etc. etc. but that's it - no further help. So I decided to take the car to SVS for their opinion...
Firstly a test drive with Rob - a man who I just know has forgotten more about Range Rovers than I'll ever know - and then a chat with the boss Peter. We agreed that I would leave the car with them the following week given that the 'clunk' had failed to appear during my drive with Rob! Peter also mentioned a gizmo that could wirelessly connect my phone to the screen in the car and he'd give me the details when I returned. Dropped the car off the following week and Connor - the front desk man - called later that day to say they'd identified the fault and would have it sorted by the following day. I picked the car up and the guys told me they had changed the transmission oil and updated the control software - strangely another one of the updates that main dealers either never acknowledge or seem unable to install - and Peter gave me the wireless unit details as promised. Total bill £301 which I paid quite happily even though the car is still under a three-year warranty from JLR. I thought I'd hold off getting too carried away for a few days and see what happened...
Nearly a week out and NO clunking AND the phone connects perfectly. Frankly, I'm astonished and delighted to have found a company who know what they're talking about and actually deliver the goods. No coffees, no croissants and no papers to read but these guys really deliver what actually matters - your car works as it should and the people you speak to are all properly involved in the process of making it happen. I know this is a bit of a ramble but I want to convey the sense of a garage service that I thought had long vanished. My only concern is too many Land Rover owners finding these guys...!! See you for the next oil change and thanks for making a real difference to my enjoyment of the daily drive.
